The First Plane Trip

Madeline and mommy hit the road and flew to Dallas over the weekend to see Grandma Rita and a bunch of mommy's friends. I was so nervous in the days and hours leading up to the trip and worried how she'd do. Turns out my worrying was not necessary. She did amazingly well!

Here she is on the way to Dallas. The flight wasn't full so they let me bring her carseat on board. She only sat in it until we began pulling away from the gate because I wanted to nurse her during takeover to help her avoid ear pains.

She recently "discovered" her hands and will frequently hold them in front of her face, stare at them, and then shove one of them in her mouth and chew on it. She's showing early signs of teething, so I guess it just feels good.

The return trip was a little dicier to start with. She began wailing as soon as we started to board. I had tried to feed her during the day so she'd be ready to eat on the plane, but she got hungry a little earlier than I thought she would and screamed the entire wait down the jetway. But once again, as soon as we sat down and I was able to nurse her, she slept and ate the whole flight.

I'm so proud of our little girl. She's such an amazing little trooper.
