Getting to Know Madeline

I figured since I posted with a list of things we know about Charlotte, I should post a list of things we know about Madeline. This list is by no means all-encompassing since she's doing something new and different every day, but it's what came to mind when I tried to put it all down in a post:

-When you ask her to do something she doesn't want to do, she'll say "No. I'm busy."

-When she cries, she'll say "I'm sad" or "I have tears." It seriously is heartbreaking, even if she cries because you told her she couldn't do or have something.

-After being asked what she did at school each day, she typically says "I played with new friends." She's been in that room at daycare since June but she still calls them her new friends.

-She loves to tell you things she likes about you. Sometimes it's just one thing. But other times she'll rattle off a bunch. Today while getting her out of bed, she said "I like your hair. I want to pet it" then she rubbed my head and hair. It was ridiculously adorable.

-She knows the words for her parts and for boy parts. Every now and then she'll just blurt out "I have a vagina." In combining with the item above, a few weeks ago I was walking her into daycare and she patted my chest and said "I like your nipples." Of course I quickly made sure there wasn't a Janet Jackson-esque wardrobe malfunction going on.

-She loves to sing and talk to Charlotte when no one is watching. I caught her doing "this little piggy" with Charlotte's toes the other day.

-She's exceptionally bright and loves to sing songs. It only takes a few notes of a song on Toddler Radio for her to be able to identify it.

-Elmo is an obsession. We thought she liked him before, but now she's crazy about him.

-Her smile lights up the room.

I know there's more but those are what quickly came to mind as I reflected on how precious, wonderful, smart, cute and amazing she is.
