There are days when you just want to slog through whatever parenting moment you're in the middle of and move on - hoping the memory disappears in a relatively short amount of time. Typically those moments have something to do with a bodily function and a mess you have to clean up.
Then there are other moments where you hope you never forget and that you wish you had video to preserve them. Here's the story of one of those moments.
Madeline has been opinionated about what she wears for quite a while. This is typically expressed by her pushing my hand away and saying "mommy I don't want to wear that" and usually happens around 6:30 a.m. when we're getting her dressed for school.
Last night, though, she did something she hadn't done before - she took off what she was wearing and changed into an outfit entirely of her choosing.
Cute, right?
Yeah it was.
Problem was that she did it at midnight last night.
She got out of bed, got out of her footie PJs, and judging by the state of her dresser this morning tried on several things before going with a purple fish shirt and neon pink strip leggings. She even tried to change her Pull-Up since I found one pulled apart in the drawer.
Then she started knocking on the inside of her door to let us know she was ready to get up and go downstairs.
After giggling for a bit over it, we put her back in her PJs and loaded her into our bed for the night. Here she is this morning passed out and pretty grumpy that it was actually time to get up. {Is there anything cutie than kids in footie PJs?)
