Sugared Cranberries

I saw these online (Pinterest, of course) and knew I had to make them since I had the three ingredients I needed already at home - cranberries, sugar and water.

Combine 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar in a small pot. Bring to a low boil until the sugar dissolves, and remove from heat.

Allow to cool for about five minutes. Put about 3/4 cup to 1 cup of cranberries in at a time, and toss in the syrup.

Using a slotted spoon, place them on a rack to set. Some of the small ones may fall through, but that's ok. I used a grid rack versus just a regular cooling rack so that they all didn't fall through.

Leave them for about an hour, and they'll get sticky so they can hold the sugar.

In small batches, toss in sugar and place back on rack.  That's it. Easy peasy, and yummy yummy. Place them in a tightly sealed container in the fridge for up to a week.

I'll be sharing the simple appetizer that I'm making them for after Christmas, but you don't even need a recipe. They're really tasty as a little snack.

And here's my junior food stylist/second shooter helping me out behind the scenes.
