I Love This Kid
Madeline is at an amazing age right now. Her imagination is so amazing, and it's so wonderful just to watch her develop. Don't get me wrong - there are days when I want to run screaming from the house (case in point - this morning where I literally had to hold her on the toilet to keep her from getting up and peeing on the floor).
I wanted to take a minute and write down some of the things that she's doing that I know in a year I may forget.
She's obsessed with asking what time it is. She'll ask you over and over and over. The actual time doesn't mean anything to her. I could say it's 16:97, and she'd say "ok."
When she wants something, she'll say "mommy can you do me a favor?" I'm sure that's because I always try to ask Brian (or even her) if they can do me a favor when I need help with something instead of just barking an order.
We have a roomba vacuum cleaner. I like to zumba. When I go to exercise, she says "mommy's gone to roomba."
Fairly often you can look around the house and see that she's put "her kids" to bed. It looks like a doll graveyard because she completely covers them with blankets. Then she sits in her "teacher chair" (also known as her princess chair) and reads them stories. I need to get pictures and/or video of this because it's super cute - until you trip over one of the dolls and she flips out.
I'm sure I should be thinking of about 100 other things that she does, but these are what popped into my head. I may add to this as they come to mind. But until then, I just have to say - this kid rocks!
