Back from Chicago

I'll get to posting pictures this weekend, but I wanted to share some of our sightseeing info in case anyone is planning a trip.

A few months ago, I saw an ad for this travel card:

The card is available from Smart Destinations.com. With the Go Card, you get access to more than 25 different attractions. You can also create a custom card with just the things you will do, but we went for the 3-day unlimited card to have some flexibility. I got a little worried we wouldn't get our money's worth, but we definitely saved some by going this route. We paid $107 each for three days, and here's the pricing if we'd bought the individual card versus paying at the door:

Close
Shedd Aquarium
$28.95
Close
Architectural River Cruise by Shoreline
$24.00
Close
Navy Pier - Metropolitan Pier & Exposition Authority
$15.00
Close
Hop On Hop Off Trolley by Gray Line
$35.00
Close
John Hancock Observatory
$15.50
Close
The Field Museum
$22.00
Close
SkyDeck Chicago - Willis Tower
$15.95
Close
Lake Cruise by Shoreline
$14.00

Gate price of the above: $170.40
Go Select pick and choose price: $131.29
Our price with the Go Chicago card: $107

They have these cards for about 10 major US cities, so if you have a trip coming up, I'd definitely check it out. Play with the site and see if a pick and choose or unlimited card is right for you. In this case, the unlimited card was definitely right for us. On top of the discount pricing, we didn't have to stand in a ridiculously long line at Shedd Aquarium (like 60+ minutes to get in). We had actually planned to do two more things, but both were closed the day we went to do them :-(
