A Family Celebration of 2 Amazing Years
This year's celebration of Madeline's birthday was different from last year's in many ways. First of all, it wasn't 40 degrees out and snowing. Second, while last year was an exhibit in excessive over-planning down to the last detail (anyone remember the custom stamps for the invitations?), this year's was a small, family-focused event. And that proved to be the right strategy not only because I'm 36-weeks pregnant but because Madeline was all about doing her own thing. I think a house full of people like last year would have freaked her out and totally overwhelmed her. Plus, this was her last celebration as the baby, and we really wanted it to be about her.
