Big Island Wednesdays: Week 1

I'm excited about our upcoming family vacation to Hawaii's Big Island. I mean I'm REALLY excited. I can't wait to take our first real family vacation (and the longest trip Brian and I have taken since we got married). Each week I'm going to try to post a tidbit about the trip.

When we started planning out our trip, we had intended to do two islands for three days each. In the end, we decided that one island would be a much more relaxing trip since we'll be taking Madeline with us. It just didn't sound fun to have to pack, haul ourselves to the airport, go back through security, get on a plane, and then transfer to another hotel.

This week I'm going to share where we're staying - the Hilton Waikoloa Village. We got a great package deal that includes airfare and a stay here in a partial ocean view room. The hotel is ideally located for branching out to explore all the various parts of the island, and the facilities are enormous. 64 acres of highly manicured grounds complete with a private bay, swimming pools, and even a dolphin habitat.

Isn't it beautiful?
